The American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) is launching a new fellowship program to help prepare nurse managers for executive positions, in light of the aging workforce.
AONE partnered with the American Academy of Critical-Care Nurses and the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses in developing the fellowship. Participants will meet four times during the year-long program, which will focus on key topics such as personal development, business management, and leadership.
The program is aimed at helping nurse managers develop a passion for learning and develop leadership competencies, as well as strengthen existing skills. Nurses from sundry practice settings have until September 15 of this year to apply; applicants must have at least one year's experience in a nursing management position. For more information on the application process, visit AONE online at http://www.aone.org. AONE will accept up to 25 fellows, whose names will be announced November 1.
