A designated facility screens competencies of contract nurses
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, August 28, 2007
Georgetown University Hospital, located in Washington, DC, is taking a step to ensure the contract nurses hired by the facility have the necessary skills to provide high-quality patient care. Georgetown-an ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® recipient in 2004-teamed up with NurseTesting.com to create competency testing for all healthcare staffing candidates to simplify the contract nurse recruitment process. According to Georgetown, this partnership will require all current healthcare staffing vendors to screen their candidates with NurseTesting.com's national validated exams before sending contract nurses to Georgetown University Hospital.
