An Oklahoma university has kicked off a new bachelor's of nursing program that will allow California-based students to complete all their courses on the Web.

The 14-month accelerated program, launched by the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing, has about 30 students enrolled and was recently approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing. It is aimed at students who already possess a bachelor's degree in a different field and wish to embark on a nursing career (while remaining on the West coast).

All courses will take place online, and students will complete clinical work at Sharp Healthcare locations in and around San Diego. The Oklahoma university has hired faculty members to be stationed in California and oversee the training of the students.
