An Alabama college recently hosted a summer camp to teach students about the nursing profession and what it takes to be a nurse.
About 20 high school students took part in the camp at Snead State Community College in Boaz, AL. During the camp, the students learned how to check vital signs and were certified in CPR. They also received lab training and participated in classroom lectures.
Additionally, to provide opportunities for students to shadow nurses on the job, the college joined forces with local medical center Marshall Medical Center South.
