Make clinical outcomes visible to motivate staff
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, July 31, 2007
Help improve performance and motivate staff members to engage in evidence-based practice by making clinical outcomes visible to clinicians. Many healthcare organizations post graphs and control charts in a conference room on a specific clinical unit. For example, a clinical unit might regularly post a graph with the average blood glucose levels for hospitalized diabetic patients. Doing so allows clinicians to visualize their progress with achieving glycemic control, which helps them strive for success.
