In an attempt to meet the staffing needs of the region by bringing in highly qualified nurses, an Illinois university is starting up two advanced nursing degree programs.

The new bachelor and master degree programs at Roosevelt University in Schaumburg, IL, are designed to complement local associate degree programs for RNs. About 20 students are expected to be enrolled in the programs once they kick off in September.

Officials are also working to develop partnerships with local health facilities in order to create opportunities for tuition reimbursement and supplementary career development.
