New York hospital becomes one of the few and proud
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, May 1, 2007
Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor, NY, says employees were full of excitement and cheer when they heard the news that the facility had recently joined a select group of hospitals nationwide and received ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® designation. Hudson Valley began its journey in 2002, which involved a 3,000-page application and a site visit to review the hospital and its nursing staff. One of the standards the hospital reviewed as it sought designation was staff turnover and other work environment indicators that focus on providing quality and safety to staff nurses and patients. Hudson Valley is one of 16 hospitals in New York that has received designation.
