An Oregon college recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its new Health Science Education Center.
The center, located in Chemeketa Community College in McMinnville, OR, will house the college's new nursing program that kicks off this spring with 18 students. Along with classroom space, the center will house computer and simulation labs.
The goal of the center is to increase capacity for nursing students in the rural area. New students will be accepted on alternating years into the two-year program; the next set of applications will be accepted in 2009.
