Healthcare system proposes merge with hospital

The Aspirus Health Care System, based in Wisconsin, is hoping to bring Michigan's Ontonagon Memorial Hospital into the non-profit Aspirus regional healthcare system. The system also includes Aspirus Wausau Hospital, located in Wisconsin, an ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®-designated facility since 2005. Under the merger, Aspirus would provide capital investments in the hospital of $4.03 million over five years, including $1.58 million in building improvements and $1 million in new and replaced equipment.
