Exemplifying the image of nursing across the organization

HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, February 27, 2007

It may be a challenge to capture the influence that nursing has across the organization from a qualitative perspective, whereas quantitative data are readily available. However, without a central reporting process for stories and situations in which nursing has influenced outcomes, identifying nursing influence is often inconsistent.

Consider establishing a team page on the organization's Intranet where information about programs or events may be entered as they occur. The ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® director develops processes for collecting information and communicates a plan (e.g. a form for recording, or a hotline for reporting "Nursing excellence moments") to the entire organization.
