Designated facility earns Faith in Future award
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, February 13, 2007
Catawba Valley Medical Center of Hickory, NC, an ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®-designated facility since 2001, has been awarded the 2007 Catawba County Chamber of Commerce's Faith in the Future award. The award was presented for the medical center's contributions to Catawba County, including the creation of a Health Career Internship Program, a 16-year collaborative effort between the facility and Catawba County Schools. The program, designed to recruit, educate, and prepare high school students for healthcare careers, has been completed by 275 students.
