Adena Health System is partnering with Wright State University and Ohio University to bring a new nursing education program to Chillicothe, OH.

The new program at Adena will allow nurses to take classes to further their education and receive a bachelor's or master's degree. Many of the nurses at Adena have an associate's degree from one of the 2-year universities and colleges in the region.

According to a Chillicothe (OH) Gazette article, the Ohio Hospital Association reported an almost 6% nursing shortage in the state for 2006, and said the shortage of full-time RNs in Ohio could reach 29% by 2020.
