New York's first redesignation
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, January 23, 2007
The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City is the state's first facility to be redesignated with the ANCC's Magnet Recognition Program® status. The 146-bed hospital was initially designated in 2002, and was the first hospital in Manhattan to earn the designation. The redesignation process was similar to the initial application process and included an extensive evaluation consisting of interviews and reviews of nursing services, clinical outcomes, and patient care.
