Finding great nursing educators continues to be a formidable task in Michigan. One innovative solution is a task force.

This month, the Health Initiative Task Force, which now includes Saginaw Valley University and Delta College, both located in University Center, MI, will begin scouring the ranks of staff nurses to find the best and brightest to turn into educators. The project's goal is to find 8-10 new educators in the next three years.

A combination of groups, including the Bay Area Community Foundation, the Midland Area Community Foundation, the Saginaw Community Foundation, and the Grace A. Dow Foundation are joining forces to foot the $300,000 bill for the program.
