Expand staff-nurse expertise by supporting continuing education
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, January 16, 2007
Organizations should support continuing education as a method of life-long learning. It can enhance nurse competencies, improve quality of care, and increase nurse satisfaction and retention. Nursing leadership must communicate and advocate for a plan of life-long learning that supports the practice setting.
To help life-long education become a reality, the CNO advocates for the necessary financial and HR resources and ensures that the nursing leadership team understands its importance. ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® facilities are learning organizations that drive their futures by expanding staff-nurse expertise and workplace satisfaction.
