Information technologies enhance patient safety initiatives
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, January 16, 2007
Virginia Hospital Center of Arlington, VA, will soon be implementing an advanced information technology (IT) system, by using Siemens Medical Solutions' health information management system, Soarian®. The hospital says the purchase of the technology will help it work toward the national movement of utilizing advanced IT to build a nationwide health information infrastructure, and it will be helpful in Virginia Hospital Center's effort to achieve ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® status. Soarian's workflow management tools will enable the facility to drive organizational efficiencies, address patient safety initiatives, and enhance clinical decision-making.
