Working through Force of Magnetism 8: Consultation and resources

HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, January 9, 2007

In your written documentation for Force of Magnetism 8: Consultation and resources, include community experts such as local college/university faculty, local business leaders, or board members who share their expertise with staff. Describe how nursing staff use organizational resources such as a medical librarian or a data analyst. Hiring consultants from outside of the organization (e.g., leaders of local professional nursing organizations) to mentor or coach staff can bring enthusiasm to an organization. Participation in healthcare-related community groups or membership in national organizations are ways to provide consultation to the facility and allow staff to serve as resources to these organizations. Describe the roles of organizational experts such as diabetic educators, education specialists, and staff who have attained the highest levels on the clinical ladder program.
