About 1 in 8 registered nurses in Indiana are not working in nursing, according to market data. A new program, Return to Nursing, is hoping to change that equation dramatically.

The program, which was created thanks to the partnership of Sigma Theta Tau International (the honor society of nursing) and local hospitals, will feature 40 hours of online learning, 40 hours of clinical practicum, textbooks, and a one-day career planning workshop.

The program is being funded by the Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation, a private foundation that provides funds to nonprofit organizations.
