Being a new nurse, all alone, can be daunting. Being a new nurse in a specialty unit can be even more stressful.

Broward Community College in Fort Lauderdale, FL, is providing some support.

Thanks to a $226,259 grant from SUCCEED! Florida, an educational grant program, student nurses will work with nurse mentors from different hospitals in the state. To kick off the program, 25 students will work in a clinical setting to help them gain skills for the future. The extra support, proponents hope, will ease the transition from student to nurse.
