Financial gift offered to support the journey
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, November 7, 2006
The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation presented the Valley Medical Center Foundation with a gift of $4.3 million-nearly half of which is intended to be used to help the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) of San Jose, CA, work toward achieving ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® designation. While $2.1 million will be put toward the medical center's journey to designation, the other portion of the grant, $2.2 million, will provide new bar-coding technology to SCVMC's pharmacy services. SCVMC will be the first public facility in California with the bar-coding technology.
