Capture staff's passion in documentation

HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, October 31, 2006

Compiling a representative sample from across multiple departments in your documentation can be difficult. Make sure you tell the story of the facility; don't just give a few examples from specialty units. In Force of Magnetism 7: Quality improvement, it is essential to have a mechanism for reporting and updating the progress of quality improvement efforts, such as a central repository for all staff to access at a later point.

Include staff from all departments when writing about this Force. Ask them to tell their stories and be sure to focus on the story, not the grammar and punctuation. Capture the staff's enthusiasm and passion as they share stories about the teams with which they have worked and the outcomes they have achieved. Record the stories in a central repository.
