Munson Medical Center becomes Michigan's second designated facility

Munson Medical Center of Traverse City, MI, earned ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® designation last week, making it Michigan's second designated organization. Munson submitted its application in July of 2005 and had its three-day appraiser site visit in March. During the site visit, the appraisers interviewed hundreds of Munson's nursing staff, among other employees, according to the hospital. Munson is a 368-bed medical center and employs about 900 RNs, 75 licensed practical nurses, and several hundred nursing assistants and clerical employees. Munson has repeatedly been named to the 100 Top® Hospitals list compiled by Solucient, an information products company serving the healthcare industry.
