Hospitals are increasingly searching for new ways to alleviate nursing shortages. Reliable Medical Services (Remeds), a company based in Midlothian, VA, may provide an answer.

The two-year old company brings in qualified nurses and other medical personnel from abroad and helps them acclimatize to their old profession in a new country. As of now, Remeds works with nurses from only India and the Philippines, but expansion may be on the horizon.

The company takes nurses who have a solid base of knowledge in their home country, with regard to training and language, and helps them prepare for the mandatory National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX). Remeds also helps guide applicants through the immigration process.
