HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, August 1, 2006
Flagler Hospital of St. Augustine, FL, received ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® designation in mid-July, making it the first facility in northeast Florida. The facility's CNO, Barbara Drummond-Huth, MSH, MSN, CNAA,BC, says the hospital has been on the journey for 10 years, and in the application process for the past three. Drummond-Huth says each unit of the hospital has celebrated the designation, and a hospitalwide celebration is in the planning stages. "We are so proud of the fact that every department contributed in major ways to this designation," says Drummond-Huth. The 316-bed acute-care hospital was also recently named the area's 2006 Best Place to Work by the Jacksonville Business Journal.
