Experts agree that pain in America is a healthcare crisis, and surveys have revealed that half of all persons may suffer chronic or recurring pain conditions. Many of them are either untreated or undertreated for their pain.
To combat this issue, a new online resource has been launched for healthcare practitioners to learn about pain and pain management. "Pain Treatment Topix", found at http://www.pain-topix.com/, provides evidence-based clinical news, information, research, and education on the causes and effective treatment of all pain conditions. The Web site is designed for easy navigation and includes, among other helpful tools, a compilation of clinical guidelines, research reviews, and links to related Web sites.
Pain Treatment Topix is modeled after "Addiction Treatment Forum" (http://www.atforum.com/), which is a leading noncommercial educational program in the addiction treatment field.
