Make the most of your site visit with these five ideas

The ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) site visit is an exciting experience for organizations. To make the most of this visit from appraisers, according to Barbara (BJ) Hannon, RN, MSN, MRP coordinator at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, in Iowa City, IA, keep the following five tips in mind as you prepare for this critical phase in the program's process:
- Energize and engage staff
- Have fun
- Make sure staff know what is in the documents
- Hold a champion retreat
- Invite a coordinator or champion from an existing MRP organization to speak at your facility
