Tips for Force 2: Organizational structure
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, May 16, 2006
Organizational structure may be difficult to bring to life as it is not easy to tell a complex organization's story. Uncovering the intricacies of the CNO's work at the organizationwide level may prove challenging for some ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® applicants. To work through these challenges, consider following the threads of one strategic initiative developed by the CNO from inception to implementation. Use meeting minutes from the unit through the board level to reflect a decentralized, shared decision-making process. Rather than using a traditional template of an organizational structure, consider developing a creative model to reflect the flat nature of the relationships within nursing.
