You enter a patient's room to deliver his evening meal. He asks you to fix his sheet that is coming untucked from the bed. What do you do after you assist the patient?

The first thing you must do before proceeding with your duties is wash your hands. You have made patient contact; therefore it is required to practice proper hand hygiene before delivering a meal to your next patient.
