Hospital in Idaho earns redesignation from ANCC

HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, February 7, 2006

St. Luke's Regional Medical Center recently earned ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® redesignation from the ANCC. The organization initially earned the honor-which a nursing official at the hospital likens to an Olympic gold medal-in 2001. A representative from the Idaho Nurses Association says that recertification indicates that St. Luke's not only maintains a designated-worthy standard of excellence, but also continues to improve upon that standard. According to a nursing official, staff nurses receive the support necessary to provide the highest level of professional care, such as opportunities to participate in shared decision making and educational advancement.
