The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey has awarded a $125,000 one-year grant to the New Jersey Hospital Quality Initiative (NJHQI), in an effort to help New Jersey hospitals improve quality of care. The grant will cover the costs of program development, quality improvement activities, and program evaluation.
Specifically, the initiative will focus on hospitals that have not scored as well on the state's report card and the Hospital Quality Alliance, a quality data initiative from the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The funds will support an assessment of quality improvement needs for each participating hospital and will provide resources and training on quality improvement strategies for hospital personnel.
