Communicating meeting minutes
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, November 1, 2005
To promote open ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) communication between committees, and to share their activities with your entire organization, consider posting committee meeting minutes electronically on your Intranet. This strategy works well at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, NY, according to Brenda Pettit, RN, BS, MRP director at the hospital. "We post all the MRP council meeting minutes in our MEDITECH library for all to read," she says. Councils include quality, practice, education, research and team/coordinating-which consists of the "cheerleaders" who ensure all the other councils complete their tasks. Each council has a section under the "professional practice council" tab on the system, where all monthly minutes are posted and available for print, allowing all employees to review what is discussed at each council meeting.
