HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, October 25, 2005
Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, NY-an ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) designated hospital since 2004-endorses professional development at all levels of practice, says Brenda L. Pettit, RN, BS, MRP director at the facility. For example, staff nurses participate in monthly nursing grand rounds. These rounds provide a milieu for nurses to share knowledge about various aspects of their nursing practice. The education department also provides educational programs (e.g., preceptor/mentor training and customer service education), and distributes monthly articles that focus on patient diagnosis and assessment.
