Network for success
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, October 4, 2005
"It's really important for [ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® applicants] to seek out help either in their immediate local area, if that's possible, or across the country," says Barbara Wadsworth, RN, MSN, MBA, CNAA,BC, administrative nurse director at Abington (PA) Memorial Hospital. It's easy to network with designated institutions through e-mails and calls, and applicants can learn a lot from organizations of similar size or setting, Wadsworth says. But keep in mind that what works for one place might not work for another. "Facilities can achieve designation many different ways. It's not right or wrong, it's just different," she adds.
