ANCC recognizes fourth designated facility in GA

HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, May 24, 2005

The ANCC named The Medical Center of Central Georgia the fourth ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® facility in the state. The organization received the news during a conference call last week and the healthcare staff celebrated by cheering, waving, and shaking tambourines. Officials say that their three-year journey was an organizationwide effort, not solely a nursing initiative. The medical center currently employs 1,500 full- and part-time RNs and hopes to recruit and retain future RNs because of their recognition for nursing excellence by the ANCC. Hospital administrators say that the award marks the presence of high-quality care delivered by well-trained staff.
