HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, May 31, 2005
The ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) application process requires facilities to gather and submit a lot of data. Create a chart to help keep track of information. Create a chart to help keep track of information such as the number of nurses who
- are certified in their specialties
- volunteer in the community
- attend college classes
South Miami Hospital in Miami, FL designed an Excel spreadsheet to easily obtain this data for all nurses on each unit, and asked managers to keep it up-to-date, says Patricia Collins, RN, MSN, AOCN, MRP coordinator at the hospital.
