MA-based home healthcare agency marks 10 years of service

In Massachusetts, 35% of home healthcare agencies closed between 1997 and 2001, according to an executive at Winchester Home Care. This Winchester, MA-based organization celebrated 10 years of operation earlier this month. Officials consider this milestone an achievement in a time when the homecare industry has had to adapt to new regulations and shorter patient hospital-stays. During its decade of service, the agency earned ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® designation in 2003 with Winchester Hospital. Officials contribute these successes in part to the support and collaboration between the agency's employees and the physicians, nurses, and case managers at the hospital. Winchester Home Care employees 130 part- and full-time professionals and provides 50,000 home visits a year.
