The University of Florida Health Science Center Jacksonville partnered with TeraRecon, Inc., an imagining technology company, to offer state-of-the-art clinical training next month. The participants will use advanced software to perform diagnostic reviews of 3D images for large-slice (large volume) computed tomography and magnetic resonance scanners. Instructors designed four-day courses, teaching physicians and technologists how to generate images and manage large-volume datasets, as well as analyzing case studies with the students. Faculty will lecture on efficiently obtaining clinical results and 3D reimbursements. A separate two-day training course will educate participants solely on virtual colonoscopy. Program officials say that physicians and technologists need to learn the latest post-processing techniques to improve accuracy of image-review, efficiency of work processes, and ultimately, patient care.
