Maryland resident Florence Ngwe Igwacho pleaded guilty on July 9 to charges of identity fraud and practicing registered nursing (RN) without a license, according to M2 Presswire. Igwacho worked several night shifts at two Baltimore area hospitals as an RN in August 2001. According to investigators, she lied about receiving an RN degree from George Mason University, and assumed the identity of Karen Awah, an actual licensed RN practicing in Washington, DC.

The charade ended when another RN from one of the Baltimore area hospitals met the real Karen Awah while on Army Reserve duty at an Army hospital in Washington, DC.
