Report: Registered nurses' earnings remain flat

In 2018, the average earnings of fulltime registered nurses (RN) and licensed practical nurses (LPN) was $80,000 and $48,000, respectively, according to the latest Medscape RN/LPN Compensation Report.
More than 7,000 respondents reported their 2018 earnings in Medscape’s survey, which found that the average annual RN income saw no significant increase from the 2017 and 2016 surveys. In fact, RN compensation has only increased $2,000 since 2015.
Meanwhile, the average annual LPN income increased $2,000 from the 2017 and 2016 surveys. Since 2015, their average earnings have increased $5,000.
