Just like any good nurse would not give IV narcotics to a patient in pain and not reassess the effects a short time later, a good nurse residency program (NRP) designer always makes the effort to evaluate how new graduates are reacting to the program, what they are taking away from it, how well they incorporate new competencies into their daily practice, and how well the NRP does what it is intended to do to retain and develop new graduate nurses.

This is an example of a sheet that could be used to evaluate a NRP session from the new graduate perspective. It covers both presentation and content, can be completed in a minute or two, and can yield specific data that be used to modify future sessions. It also provides feedback to presenters and the materials they use to present with.
