According to a new study by The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT, most recent studies on health information technology (HIT) show that it benefits healthcare providers, especially in smaller providers and larger organizations that were early adopters of electronic health records (EHRs).
Recent findings have suggested that there is no added benefit for healthcare providers to adopt these systems. But, according to one author of the study, previous findings concentrated only on the early years of EHRs, and said that provider satisfaction and their ability to use the systems has a lot to do with successful health IT implementation.
