In the news: Journal of Nursing Education publishes paper on EPB
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, December 6, 2010
This month’s Journal of Nursing Education takes a look at evidence-based practice (EBP) with the paper “Educational Innovations: Teaching Research and Evidence-Based Practice Using a Service-Learning Approach.”
The paper, authored by Karen Balakas, PhD, RN, CNE and Laurie Sparks, PhD, RN, CPNP, states that because EBP is required, nurses must obtain skils to evaluate and apply research findings critically to prepare for professional practice. The paper targets service- and collaborative learning to help nurses gain and grow these skills.
The paper can be found online here.
