In the news: UNC Hospitals receive designation, create announcement video
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, November 29, 2010
The University of North Carolina (UNC) Hospitals received notification of their designation as ANCC Magnet Recognition Program ® (MRP) hospitals. The organization recorded the official call and posted it to Youtube, providing an entertaining and interesting look at the experience of learning their organization had achieved MRP status.
"This is public recognition and validation of how great this hospital is—our nursing staff as well as our physicians, support staff and all of our interdisciplinary partners across the health care system," Mary Tonges, PhD, UNC Hospitals senior vice president and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), said in a prepared statement. "Earning MRP status is good for us in many ways, but most importantly this validates how good UNC Hospitals is, how proud we deserve to be of the staff who work here, and the care we provide for the people of North Carolina every day."
