"How do we measure our impact on patient outcomes?" was an underlying question throughout the convention. Participants interacted with presenters, who discussed implementing evidence-based practice in staff development as a means of objectively quantifying the effect of staff development services.
An ongoing concern in the current economic climate is job security. The fear that staff development positions will be cut is a real one. To help alleviate this fear, participants sought out opportunities in education that will help them measure their success in terms of job performance, patient outcomes, and return on investment.
