In the news: York Hospital nurses share experiences in Nairobi
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, October 8, 2010
It is the responsibility of nurses at ANCC Magnet Recognition Program ® (MRP) designated hospitals to share their experience and knowledge. Two nurses from MRP-designated York Hospital in York, PA, took this mandate one giant step further—by sharing their experience with Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi.
Nurses Barb Buchko and Linda Pugh from traveled to Africa recently to help teach other nurses about evidence-based practice. They were there by invitation of Zeenat Sulaiman, MScN, RN, Aga Khan University Hospital’s chief nurse.
“I shared York Hospital’s journey toward [MRP] designation, particularly our experience with evidence-based practice,” said Buchko.
