Inside scoop from our experts: Clinical ladder
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, September 20, 2010
This week’s question about nurse sensitive indicators comes from a discussion on JourneyTalk. Jennifer Thibault, RN, BSN, MBA, LNCC, CRRN, SANE-A, CCM, quality outcomes coordinator/ANCC Magnet Recognition Program ® coordinator, the Department of Nursing Quality and Research at the University of Kansas Hospital provides some feedback.
Q: Would anybody be willing to share your criteria for who is eligible to participate on your clinical ladder? Just staff RN's? Unit educators? Care coordinators? Bedside only?
A: The program is open to all Department of Nursing registered nurses (0.5 FTE or greater), including:
- Clinical/bedside nurses
- Nurse educators
- Unit coordinators
- Specialty team supervisors
- Nursing administrative coordinators
- Nurses employed in Clinical Excellence, Case Management, Education/Development, Quality, Informatics and other non-direct care areas
Editor's note: On JourneyTalk you can network with your peers, discuss the new manual, share your helpful tips, and get advice on how to meet the program's expectations. Become a member of JourneyTalk when you subscribe to HCPro's Resource Center for the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®.
