How much work goes into seeking Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) re-designation? For one Vermont hospital, the end result is a 14-pound document detailing its entire journey. The hospital recently shared its story with the Bennington Banner just a week before MRP personnel arrived for their site visit.
Southwestern Vermont Medical Center was first designated in 2002. The facility is currently applying for its second re-designation.
“I think it’s a rallying point for the nurses,” Jean Cody, RN, BSN, the facility’s MRP coordinator, told the Banner.
