In the news: Report looks at in-dwelling catheter management

Ostomy-Wound Management (o-wm.com) has released a report providing guidance on use of in-dwelling catheters. The report, In-Dwelling Catheter Management: From Habit-Based to Evidence-Based by author JoAnn Mercer Smith, BSN, RN, CWOCN, looks at usage of catheters alongside infection rates and identifies opportunities for nurses to use consistent and standardized practices based on current research when caring for patients with in-dwelling catheters.
The report also looks at common complications and methods to prevent these complications in patients.
