In the mix: NC nursing students create fun patient education videos

Stressed Out Nurses Weekly, June 28, 2010

North Carolina nursing students from Duke University, Western Carolina University, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte entered a competition earlier this year to produce informative patient education videos. “Get the Picture Patient Video Competition”—conducted by the Innovative Nursing Education Technologies (iNet) organization—required nursing students to create a 10-minute or less video and upload the film to YouTube.

Each group picked topics from iNet’s website and had until April 15 to post their video.

The top three winning videos all come from UNC Charlotte and cover hypertension, blood clots, and smoking. The winning video, “Because My Pressure Got High,” focuses on hypertension; what people know about the disease, its symptoms, and how to treat it.
