In the news: Nursing excellence found among top 100 workplaces
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, March 1, 2010
Fourteen hospitals have been awarded a Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For status in 2010 through programs meant to help keep nurses and other staff involved and happy, Nursezone.com reports.
The hospitals range from Methodist Health System in Texas (number 17 on the list), which has appeared on the list in previous years, to Winchester Hospital in Massachusetts (number 99), making its first appearance. Many of the hospitals listed—including Winchester Hospital—share something else in common: ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® status.
According to NurseZone, the hospitals listed on this prestigious list credited their communication, shared governance, and other beneficial programs as reasons for their status as a top place to work.
